Loving Your Neighbor Program (LYN)

A series of bible-bases classes that provide our neighbors with skills to move forward in life. This is the hand-up part of Love INC’s ministry!

Teaching - Do you have gifts of teaching and have the desire to influence through these gifts? We have a need for your teaching skills in our adult classes and for our children and youth.

Spiritual Friend - If you would enjoy being a friend to one of our neighbors and help to guide them along the path of self-discovery and a deepening awareness of what it means to walk with God who knows them and loves them personally, then consider being a Spiritual Friend. We will need for you to have completed the redemptive Compassion class prior to becoming a Spiritual Friend.

Transportation - Do you enjoy the thought of picking up a van full of people who can’t wait to get to their destination (LYN)? You even have a hot meal waiting for you when you arrive. If so, then we could use your skills as a van driver.

Meal Prep - If you and your church group enjoy creating and serving a hot meal this could be for you. We are always looking for groups of people to help prepare a meal for LYN. This meal will help to feed 50-75 people

Photographer - We need someone with photography skills to photograph each evening! Take photos of classes in session, edit them, and send them along to the communications director!

Gathering Place / Treasures for Love Thrift Stores

Our thrift stores where we sell items and clothing donated by our community.

Cashier / Greeter - if you enjoy greeting people, engaging in conversation, making people feel welcome then either position could be for you. If you have a background as a cashier, please let us know.

Pricer - Some people to love to hold or go to garage sales and have a good knowledge of pricing items. You may have a knowledge of antiques, furniture, jewelry, and vintage items as well as their value. We have many items that need to be priced before they go out on the floor.

Display - perhaps you have a desire and a knack for making those little touches that transform the look of an area. This may involve hanging clothes, arranging items on the floor, or on a shelf. If you are artsy and creative then consider this position.

Donation Center

Our central location where we receive donations from the community.

Sorter - This position will allow you to work alongside others helping to sort clothes and other items we receive at the warehouse. If you love conversation and have a knack for organizing this could be for you.

Delivery Team - This position will involve the loading and dropping off of items to our neighbors. If you enjoy meeting new faces, the opportunity to pray and bless people and help meet the needs of our community this could be for you. This job does require the strength to occasionally move some heavier items.

Clearinghouse

This is where the relationship with our neighbors begin! We talk, visit, and pray for those in our community.

Receptionist - Some people are able to reveal the love of Christ over the phone. This position will be the first contact with our neighbor and will begin a relationship that will help to determine if and how we will be able to help. The receptionist will also receive many calls for the community regarding donations, resources, and potential volunteers. We want everyone who calls to know that hey have been heard, understood and loved.

Intake Worker - If it is felt that Love INC can be of help a call is made to determine how we can best help by understanding their life story further. It is very important for the Intake Specialist to have good communication skills and have the ability to be kind, patient, and see everyone’s value.

Clarification Worker - These volunteers make face to face visits with our neighbors in their home in order deepen our relationship with each other. it is important that this person have the ability to encourage, inspire, and to see through the eyes of Jesus as we seek to serve in ways that transform. These visits provide the opportunity to both share the love of Christ and to pray.
