Meet The Staff

Debrah Ramsey - Executive Director

I believe that God prepares His plan for us through experience, education, church, and other community volunteerism. He created a passion for people in me and I am humbled to be able to see the transformation in others’ lives when they are empowered to move beyond their current situation.

I have lived in this community all my life. 38 years ago I married my high school sweetheart. We have two beautiful grown children.

I love Romans 8:28 where it says - “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Bill Roberts - Administrative DirectorI was blessed to be a part of the original staff that opened Love INC SAW! I have served in numerous roles throughout the years, and currently, I serve as the Administrative Director, which means that I oversee and support each of the different areas of ministry.I am a trained educator for many years and God used this time in my life to develop skills that I would later use in ministry through Love INC. My family and I are members of Olivet Presbyterian Church (CVille) where they have sent me as a local missionary to serve the communities on the other side of the mountain.I enjoy baking cheesecake! What started off as a hobby has evolved into a small business, “Plain and Simple Cheesecakes” which I run out of my home.

Ethan Colvin - Operations Director

At the age of 17 God established two relationships in my life that would forever change me.  In October of 2006, God intervened in my life, giving me a hope not of myself, but a hope in my Redeemer, Jesus.  God saved me and that grace has radically changed everything about me.  In November of 2006 I would go on a date with my future wife, Jennifer. We married in 2011 and God has blessed us with 5 kids!

These two relationships, along with a plethora of other relationships and circumstances that God has ordained since He called me, led me to work on staff here at  Love INC in 2019.  I started off as the Donation Center Supervisor and in March of 2022 transitioned into a new role.  As the Operations Director, I work with both stores and the donation center to see the fulfillment of our mission to mobilize the church to transform lives and communities in the name of Christ!

The opportunities to see the body of Christ doing the work of God’s Kingdom by the work of His Spirit is evident in this ministry and I am grateful God has chosen to use me for such a time as this.  May we make much of Jesus!

Sharon Flory - Clearinghouse CoordinatorI love serving through Love INC with Christians in this community who have a passion and desire to see transformation for Jesus in the lives of our Neighbors as well as in their own lives. I have the privilege of serving as the Clearinghouse Coordinator. This is the heartbeat of the ministry where new relationships develop with people that God brings in our path. We invest in them relationally and intentionally deepen those relationships through each connection. We provide people with hope in Jesus through referrals to churches, the Loving Your Neighbor program, referrals to other community agencies, and area ministries all centered around a covering of prayer.in addition to having a passion for missions, I love spending time with family and friends, camping, flowers, serving with Operation Christmas Child, and enjoying life at the beach!

After being an HR representative for 10 years, I retired in 2022 and decided to start volunteering more at Love INC. I had initially helped neighbors with transportation for CYL classes and then transitioned to helping out in the office.

As office manager, I often have the privilege of being the first contact either on the phone or in person with people in our community. I work closely with our Donation Center Supervisor to schedule donation pickups and deliveries. I work with a dedicated group of people who truly are the hands and feet of Christ.

Ruslan Buriachok - Donation Center Supervisor

I’m from Ukraine, have lived in Stuarts Draft for about a year and attend Greenmonte Fellowship Church. In Ukraine I was a full-time pastor and worked with a revival charity mission. I have also worked in construction. I found out about Love INC from Clearinghouse volunteer, Natalie Pittman, a fellow Greenmonte Fellowship member.

I am most passionate about serving God and serving people and my favorite bible verse is Joshua 1: 9.

Overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Donation Center gives me the privilege of working with a great group of volunteers who encourage me daily. I love serving God, praying and sharing the love of Christ with all those I come in contact with at Love INC.

I am inspired by strong Godly men, military heroes, and intelligent entrepreneurs and one of my favorite scriptures is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Katy Bennett - LYN Program CoordinatorAs a social worker, serving our Lord through Love INC gives me the opportunity and privilege of sharing the One who can restore and transform lives in ways no person, program, or plan can do alone. The Loving Your Neighbor Program provides a non-judgemental place of love and safety where members of our local churches and Neighbors build relationships while Neighbors learn skills to help them move forward on their individual journeys of transformation. It is such a joy to work alongside such amazing staff and volunteers on this journey. The extensive laughter is an especially wonderful perk!I enjoy gardening, camping, and biking with my husband Craig. We have four grown children, all of whom we are extremely proud. We share our home with three cats (with a total of three eyes between them) and two dogs; we share our yard with three hens. Above all is my love for Jesus and His precious children.

Kim Howery - Fishersville Store Co-manager

I work at the Fishersville Thrift Store as the assistant manager. I make sure all volunteers are taken care of and the store is getting items and clothing moved in and out. I also love interacting with customers on a daily basis!

I love what Love INC stands for and all the help we give to the community and Neighbors. I also love working with the volunteers and staff to keep making new things happen.

One thing about me is I love to read and my favorite authors are Karen Kingsbury and Nicholas Sparks!

Susan Sheets - Fishersville Assistant Store Manager

I originally heard about Love INC through my church, Tabernacle Presbyterian in Waynesboro and from giving recommendations for two friends who were applying to work for the organization. I was hired in August of 2022 to be part of the Love INC family at the Fishersville Thrift Store.

I have held a variety of positions during my work career. I was a medical assistant, church secretary, and a bookkeeper for an insurance agency. In my recent past I worked with the elderly, in various settings. My biggest accomplishment was going back to college, later in life, and receiving a master's degree in counseling.

My passion is people. Whether it be family, friends, coworkers, or store customers. I have the gift of gab and am a good listener. I truly believe laughter is the best medicine and try, at all times, to be joyful and humorous (often at my own expense). Hearing life stories inspires my faith and is often the bridge to connect and pray with someone.

The Bible verse I continue to cling to is Jeremiah 29:11. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." NIV

In my spare time I enjoy reading, knitting, cross-stitch and quilting.

Rachel Jones - Stuarts Draft Store Manager

I keep hearing that I’ve been prayed for a long time. I have also been praying for a position like this one for even longer. Jesus is worthy! I’m so grateful to be a part of the Love INC family.

I oversee and assist with the daily operations of our Stuarts Draft Thrift Store. I enjoy connecting with our volunteers, local community and staff. My daily priority is to do everything unto the Lord. As the Moravians said, “May the Lamb of God receive the reward of his suffering.”

I’m passionate about prayer, worship, and encouraging others. One of my favorite hobbies is making up new songs. You might even hear me singing around the store one day!

Joy Maas - Stuarts Draft Assistant Store Manager

I am happy to be a part of the Love INC family after homeschooling my three kids for 17 years. As the assistant manager of the Stuarts Draft thrift store, it's a privilege to work alongside our amazing volunteers and staff. Each day is a new opportunity to connect with old and new friends alike as we joyfully serve Him together.

My journey has taken me from IN to WI to WA to CO to NC, and finally, to Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley in 2005. I attend Tabernacle Presbyterian and am so grateful for my church family. When I'm not spending time with my family, you can usually find me reading, writing, or creating order from chaos. I especially love hearing people's stories, so be sure and stop in to say hello the next time you're in the neighborhood!

Rosie Cruz Bermudez - Stuarts Draft Assistant Store Manager

I first heard about Love INC when they began and had an introductory meeting at the Waynesboro Health Department. We got information about their goals, the project and the plan to integrate the community. I have also been a regular customer at the Thrift Stores.

I am originally from Puerto Rico and attend the Aero Drive Church of God. In the past I have done outreach work, been an interpreter in medical, legal and private practices and was an Administrative Assistant in my younger years. I love animals and enjoy traveling in my spare time.

I am passionate about serving God and helping people find Him. My favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Jeanie Surratt - Fishersville and Draft Store Support

After a couple of years of retirement, I began my search for part time employment and God placed me here in answer to prayer. I have been with Love Inc. two years and I'm just as grateful and thankful today to be here as I was my first day!

Previously, I worked for 35 years the Waynesboro Police Department , initially as a Clerk/Stenographer, then as Administrative Assistant and lastly as Office Manager, where I retired in January 2020.

I have enjoyed thrifting many years. Some of the favorite memories with my mom come from our times spent thrifting. Working in the thrift stores is perfect for me. I am inspired by my co-workers and neighbors stories, things they have been through or what they are currently going through.

My favorite bible verse is, For I will restore your health and heal your wounds. Jeremiah 30:17

From Dandridge, Tennessee , I have now lived in Stuarts Draft, VA for 44 years now and attend Mountain Top Christian Church. In my spare time I enjoy line dancing, reading and unplanned naps.
