Position Summary
The Love INC Thrift Store Support position assists with daily store operations by providing excellent customer service, supporting store management, and maintaining a welcoming and organized environment. This role models Christ-centered hospitality, supports and encourages volunteers, and helps ensure smooth sales floor operations while upholding Love INC’s mission to serve neighbors with dignity and care.
Key Responsibilities
Store Collaboration
- Facilitate good communication with Store Manager, Assistant Manager, and Volunteers.
- Foster and nurture relationships and ensure a positive volunteer experience.
- Help with volunteer check-in & -out process.
- Empower volunteers to use their gifts and talents in ways that give them viable ministry opportunities to serve in their local church or community through Love INC.
- Ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met.
Customer Service
- Help ensure a welcoming atmosphere of hospitality and dignity to all who enter our stores.
- Promotes excellence in the customer service experience for all visitors to the thrift store through modeling and volunteer training.
- Shares, educates, and promotes Love INC to our community through engagement to our customers.
- Answers telephone in a professional manner.
Store Maintenance
- Supports Store Management to oversee Sales Floor and Standard Operating Procedures from start to finish.
- Help in the process of opening and closing the store.
- Help count cash drawer daily, prep drawer for next use, and ensure deposit accuracy.
- Support Store Management to ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met.
- Work to ensure products are priced, tagged, and replenished on sales floor.
- Provide fast, efficient and accurate checkout service.
- Maintaining neat and orderly sales floor, dressing rooms and check out areas.
- Help to maintain orderly and efficient processes.
Spiritual Foundation
- Exhibit spiritual maturity, integrity, and a commitment to personal transformation that reflects his/her relationship with Jesus.
- A Christian, committed to Jesus and the Church’s mandate to serve our neighbors-with-need as an agent of transformation.
- Affirmation of the Apostle’s Creed and has a personal relationship with Jesus that is reflected in the ability to treat Neighbors and volunteers with dignity and respect.
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ.
- Warm, relational communicator with a heart for hospitality and encouragement.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
