The phones started ringing for the first time on October 29, 2012. While receiving intakes on Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays, we have completed 75 intake applications. Of these, 60 were verified opportunities for the Body of Christ to connect with our "neighbors in need." All "neighbors", whether their need is verified or not, receive a list of resources, compassion, and prayer. In addition to meeting needs, Love INC volunteers build relationships, offer hope, and share the love of Christ with our "neighbors." Love Stories:
G.S. - a single mom ... raised to support herself ... just had her work hours cut in half ... was struggling to make ends meet. She was blessed with assistance from "her Guardian Angels" from one of our partnering churches. G.S. later met these ladies and seeds of a relationship were planted.
89 students from low-income families participated in Love INC's Creating Gifts of Love benefit. Each child made Christmas gifts to share with their families and loved ones.
"We know that no one church or agency can meet the needs of all the hurting people in our community. Love In the Name of Christ is an effective way to combine the resources to help those in need and become better stewards of those resources by helping people who truly need it."
